About Our Clinics
The SRC a non-profit organization, as of November 2021, works to provide accessible, timely, and quality medical care to Calgary’s inner-city population. Currently running at two sites in Calgary, SRC coordinates physicians and medical student volunteers to help deliver primary care services, aiming to provide preventative medicine, health counselling, education, and community services to Calgary’s under-served populations.

The Mustard Seed
In February 2020, the SRC opened a clinic with The Mustard Seed. The Mustard Seed meets the immediate needs of those experiencing homelessness and poverty by providing emergency shelter, food, clothing, hot showers, and hygiene supplies. The Wellness Centre provides advocacy support, CUPS medical care, chiropractic and massage therapy, ID recovery, as well as addictions, mental health, and bereavement counselling.

YWCA Calgary
In April 2023, the SRC expanded to the YWCA Calgary. Providing care to YWCA clients, the clinic runs every month to provide after-hours primary heath care to residents. The YWCA provides support to women and their families impacted by domestic violence, homelessness, and poverty with a variety of programs and services. Wellness workshops, run by the SRC volunteers, are also offered to YWCA residents, interested in learning about health-related topics.

How We Operate
How We Operate Our Clinics
The SRC recruits first- and second-year medical students from the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary.
Clinics are typically run in the evenings to provide after-hours access to healthcare for patients.
Students work under the supervision of a physician to assess in the management patients. The SRC provides a budget to cover basic clinic supplies.
